The East Arnhem Land Destination Management Plan (DMP) is a ten year plan to grow the East Arnhem Land tourism industry, commissioned by Tourism NT and developed by Developing East Arnhem Limited (DEAL). DMPs for each tourism region of the Northern Territory are a core recommendation of the Northern Territory’s Tourism Industry Strategy 2030.
The first draft of the East Arnhem Land DMP was released on Monday 11 January 2021 to stakeholders comment and feedback. Stakeholders have until 21 February 2021 to submit feedback on the plan.
The DMP outlines the current state of tourism in East Arnhem Land and presents a strategy specific to the region. A diverse range of actions, lead by multiple organisations, have been recommended to ensure the tourism industry has strong foundations for future growth.
DEAL is committed to ensuring this plan is a regional plan, owned by the community. The East Arnhem Land DMP is based on broad ranging consultations across the region and outside of the region with a significant number of stakeholders. We want to see the plan embraced by all stakeholders and the industry motivated to collaboratively implement the actions contained with the plan.
You can give feedback in any of the following ways:
- Adding comments to the draft document
- Send comments directly to tourism@developingeastarnhem.com.au
- Over the phone (0499 015 627)
- Arranging a one-on-one meeting
To assist with ensuring as many stakeholders as possible have access to providing feedback on the report, we would be happy to present a version of the East Arnhem Land DMP to colleagues and boards in person or over teleconference. While this draft is being extensively shared, please also feel free to pass this on to anyone you think may be interested in reviewing and providing feedback.
